What are the duties of a Coat Check Attendant?
The Coat Check Attendant’s overall responsibility is to secure and maintain the coat check area while an event is in progress. The client’s guests will enter their business or event with belongings they would not like to lug around. So the client arranges for a service to be set up to accommodate their guests during this time, “The Coat Check Service“. The process of a coat check system typically takes seconds to start and seconds to complete. It begins with the collection of a guest’s personal belongings, coat, hat or other items/accessories. The guest is given a numbered ticket to use for retrieval or they will use our electronic service. The coat check attendant then places the belongings on a hanger or in a specific marked bin assigned to that guest. When the guest returns with his/her ticket or to pick up the belongings, the coat check attendant retrieves the belongings and returns them to the guest and the process is complete. This service provides your guests a safe and secure location to store their personal belongings while attending the clients event, giving them the ease and peace of mind to enjoy your event. This service also keeps the event tidy and free of tripping hazards from personal belongings making their way onto walkways under chairs and simply just left on the floor.
A few topics that our Coat Check Attendants to keep in mind:
- Make sure to assign items in numerical order.
- Eliminate the possibility to have duplicate tickets. For example, don’t open up duplicate colored tickets.
- Remember how to use the 3-ticket system. This means that each check ticket has 3 pieces to it. So if a guest checks in a coat and a bag, you give them 1 redemption ticket and the coat and bag will have the same ticket number assigned to them.
How many Coat Check Attendants do you need for an event?
We suggest 1 Attendant per 75 guests – this changes throughout the year – Based on the local weather around holiday season.
